The skeptics are in themselves ignorant of a lot of things. Our view of the laws of energy/physics are limited to what we have experienced in the past, so we cannot use that limitation towards new innovations happening in the future that may require a change in our views of such laws. The reality is that free energy is abundant around us. The main ones are sunlight, wind and heat from the sun plus other processes that we have not understood fully yet. As a skeptic, the only demand you should make is that people who make such claim should deliver a scalable and viable product from such techniques. At the same time, we should allow people to dream and be ambitious. You never know what can come out of such work.
The other side that all of us need to grasped is the fact we should not have to purchase every product we use from some central authority. At the end of the day, you will need some degree of regulation to prevent products that could have some harmful side effects but this could be address in the overall development process.
Now, lets get back to free energy claims. Somehow, I think the people that make these claims are either very weird or somehow they are being silence by conspiracies. My simplistic view is that if you have an energy creation system that works repeatedly, all you need to do, is build a few prototypes, run them through some rigorous testing then present this information to alternative energy investors to scale the business. The bottom line is that your solution should be able to power an average household at an attractive price compared to other solutions. That is the basic requirement from my side. If you have a working product and meet the right investors, that is almost guaranteed to get support.
A good example would be the keshe foundation, they claim to have Reactor solution for some years now but yet I cannot go online and purchase such a product today. What is the hold up? does it work? can it be repeatable without adverse side effects? Here is an example of someone replicating the Keshe energy generator.
Nature has lots of mysteries and I do believe that there are sources of energy still not fully understood but it will take some level of systematic research and development to make these really feasible. You need the dreamers and established scientist to converge on potential solutions. The solution needs to be cost effective, sustainable and repeatable in a real life environment.
